Heading Home

Well after seeing some sites we then did a reflection together of all the things we experienced. We were all surprised at how much we did together. Then it was back to our homestays for the evening.
Today is our good-bye day. Then off to catch a flight home. An awesome trip and time spent together.

Saturday May 20

We all met at the Tajimi train station with our homestays this morning. Some of them had to go but some stayed with us as we visited the Tajimi Community Center that was hosting a day for foreigners (which we just happened to be!)
We shared a delicious lunch and spoke English to those learning it. We even met a young boy named Kanada (Canada). We then played a variety of games and Mr Michel met a couple of former students who came to WRCA back in 1988 and 89. Tajimi city were a great host and gave a small gift to each of us. We then went to Mr Fast's church, New Life Church. They were great as they offered Japanese writing and origami lessons. We then played a scavenger hunt game for prizes! New Life Church provided dinner and then we attended their service. Our Gr 9 choir sang a couple songs and then the Gr 9 class performed a couple skits. Mr Michel and Mr Lukacin said a few words before Pastor Fast gave an inspiring message. It was a well attended service as there were many current Chukyo students as well as former Chukyo students who had been to WRCA and now make New Life their home church. After the service we celebrated with cake and the return of the students' beloved cell phones! We all hopped back on the train to spend Sunday with our homestay families!
