The first day without cell phones for the students! Being in the moment was terrific as we were at an all school assembly at Chukyo to celebrate our arrival and 30 years as sister schools. Mr. Michel and Riley each gave speeches and both were professional and well spoken! The choir kids sang with some of last year's Japanese students. Then we went to a Jr high school to talk to potential students who might come to Canada and WRCA. Logan, David D., Andrew and Kaden demonstrated how to play mini stick hockey. On our way back to Chukyo we stopped at a dollar store and the candy flew off the shelf! Back at Chukyo we had lunch and played with the Chukyo students - our students with blonde hair were a big hit in a school of 1500 who all have black hair and dark eyes. The choir practiced and the kids interacted with Mr Fast's English Language classes, went to see Judo, Kendo, and gymnastics clubs. Then it was back to the homestays! The weather was a bit hotter and caught us by surprise after the soggy spring we have had back home. Tomorrow will be another exciting day!
